Who gets a massage?

Is it a therapy only for people with health problems?  Is massage for me?  Can I get a massage?

These may be some of the questions you may be asking yourself if you have never experienced massage therapy.

All sessions will begin with a consultation to understand your goals.  Some people recieve massage to manage stress, some to relieve pain from muscle aches and medical problems, and some people just like to relax and just enjoy a good massage.  The "benefits of massage" page will give you a partial list of why most everybody benefits from massage therapy.

However, for a few is it safest not to recieve massage. Some of these conditions include;

  • under the influence of drugs or alchohol
  • Autoimmune disease(during flare up)
  • Flu/Fever
  • Acute injury or recent surgery
  • Thrombophlebitis, DVT
  • Inflammation
  • Hives
  • non-controlled hypertension
  • infectious disease
  • intestinal obstruction
  • Tuberculosis
  • Emphysema
  • Cirrhosis Hepatitis
  • Bladder infections
  • Cancer (by advanced trained massage therapist only)
  • High-risk pregnancy (by advanced trained massage therapist only)

**Some medical conditions may need a physicians approval note to recieve massage.**
